Psalm 34:4,6 (NASB)

4 I sought the Lord and He answered me,

And rescued me from all my fears.

6 This wretched man cried out, and the Lord heard him,

And saved him out of all his troubles.

Reflect:

When David wrote Psalm 34, he was fleeing from those who could harm or kill him. He pretended to be insane before the Philistines and escaped from them. Can you imagine how David feared? Are you also trying to flee from some troubles? Do you have some fears about the new season coming? This Psalm of David reveals the secret of a courageous life filled with hope.

First, seek the Lord (34:4a). As Pastor Val Celeste said, let us embrace who we are as God’s people. And as God’s people, we should always seek His Presence, which gives hope, rebuilds, and restores.

Second, cry out to God (34:6a). Let us ask for God’s blessings and guidance. And when we ask, we ask in faith. Embracing a new beginning, as Pastor Lester said, calls us to act in faith and trust God, that He will rescue us from all our fears (34:4b) and save us out of all our troubles (34:6b).

Psalm 34 is a testimony of the goodness of the Lord. It is a song of praise and a powerful declaration of who God is.

Respond:

How are you seeking God this season? What have you been crying out to Him? As we pray and fast, let us set aside the desires of the flesh and seek the Presence of God. Let us empty ourselves before Him and ask Him to fill us with His Words.

What are your declarations this year? Let them be according to His will.

Growing up in Sunday School is the reason why Krisha decided to become a teacher. She has been teaching in Sunday School since she was 12 and six years ago, God allowed her to teach in a Christian school in Taguig. Her heart goes out for the young generation, that their ways will be made pure by the Word of God (Psalm 119:9), just as God has preserved her through His Word.
