John 8:31-32 (NASB)
So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly My disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Reflect:
It’s easy to get swayed by what we are seeing or hearing in this world. Some things look real and true, but they are not. And many are deceived. We are misled.
How many do you know are losing their identity by believing what the world is telling them? Do you know someone who’s feeling disappointed and in fear, convinced that he/she is not good enough? Or a person who’s living in constant pain and anger because of life circumstances?
What if they know that there is so much hope in Jesus? That He can guide us in all truth. That He can bring healing. In Him, there is grace, strength, wisdom, and all that we need. Whatever the future holds, He assures us that He is with us. He will never leave us or forsake us.
What if we all know that our identity is in Him and that we are free to dream and do greater things? What if we all believe that our current circumstances are not worth comparing with the future glory that the Lord has promised? He, the Lord, our God and heavenly Father, still holds the world in His hands. He is greater than he who is in this world! He sent Jesus so we may have life, to proclaim freedom, and to set us free from the lies of this world.
The thing is, only the truth that you know will set you free. How much does the world know? What does the world know?
Respond:
Friends, do you want to free yourself from the prison wall of this world? Get to know the truth. He is the only way and the life. When we receive Him as our Lord and savior, He gives us the right to become His children.
Or have you been set free by Jesus? If so, will you help set the captives free? The world needs to know that Jesus is the truth. Let Him be known! Let us love with actions and in truth.
